How the age calculator by photo works
Faces are found with MediaPipe; ages come from the FairFace model by Kärkkäinen & Joo (CC BY 4.0), quantized to 8-bit to run in your browser.

Ages are labeled
Every face gets a number and an estimated age on the photo.
Getting good results from a group photo
Group photos are harder than selfies because faces are smaller and often turned. The calculator works best when each face is at least 80 pixels wide and looking roughly toward the camera. Use the original photo rather than a compressed screenshot to keep detail.
Faces are numbered from left to right on the photo, and the list underneath shows each estimate with the age range the model is most confident about. A low confidence percentage means the face sits between two ranges, so read the estimate loosely.
Estimates describe how old a face looks, not how old someone is. Makeup, lighting, expression and image quality all move the number. Never use it to verify a person's age for legal, safety or access purposes.
Everything happens in your browser: the photo is decoded, faces are found and ages are estimated on your device. Nothing is uploaded, which makes it safe to try with family photos.
Age calculator by photo FAQ
Is it really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark and no usage limits. The analysis runs in your browser.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Detection runs locally with Google's MediaPipe model, so your photo never leaves your device.
How many faces can it handle?
Up to 20 faces per photo. Very small, blurred or side-on faces may be skipped.
Can it tell someone's exact age?
No. It estimates how old a face looks, with a typical error of 5 to 8 years. Don't use it to verify identity or age.
Can I download the labeled photo?
Right-click or long-press the labeled image to save it. The original photo is never changed.
Why was a face missed?
Faces that are tiny, blurred, heavily covered or in profile can fall below the detector's confidence threshold.
