Face shapes in the quiz
The quiz scores you against all seven common face shapes.
Oval
Oval faces are longer than they are wide, with a gently rounded jawline. Considered the most versatile face shape — most hairstyles and glasses look great on you.
Round
Round faces have soft, curved angles with width and length roughly equal. The goal is to add length and definition to elongate the face.
Square
Square faces have a strong, angular jawline with similar width across the forehead, cheekbones, and jaw. Softening the angles is usually the goal.
Heart
Heart-shaped faces have a wide forehead and cheekbones that taper to a narrow, pointed chin. Balancing the width of the forehead with the narrow chin is key.
Diamond
Diamond faces have narrow forehead and jawlines with wide cheekbones — the rarest face shape. The goal is to soften the cheekbones and balance the narrow chin.
Oblong
Oblong (rectangle) faces are significantly longer than they are wide, with a long straight cheek line. Adding width and shortening the face visually creates balance.
Triangle
Triangle (pear-shaped) faces have a narrow forehead that widens through the cheeks and jaw. Adding width to the forehead balances the stronger jawline.
How to answer the face shape quiz honestly
Stand square to a mirror in even light with your hair pulled back. Relax your face — smiling widens the cheeks and changes the jawline. If you can, trace your outline on the mirror with a dry-erase marker or soap, then step back and look at the drawing.
The questions move from overall proportions to details: length versus width first, then which part of your face is widest, then forehead, cheekbones, jaw and chin. Each answer adds points to two or three shapes, so one uncertain answer won't decide your result on its own.
Your result shows the top match plus a close second when the scores are near each other. That happens often, because real faces blend shapes. Pick the hairstyle tips that suit both, or confirm with a selfie in the photo detector.
